History

The Bears have a huge history under their belt.  One being they were the the first team in the NFL in 1920, along with Detroit who formed awhile after them.  The Bears also had all-stars on their team, not only players, but coaches also.  Like George Halas, one of the Bears first coaches, not if their first.  Another  great coach was Mike Ditka. Not only did he coach he played! The Bears also had great players.  Starting off with Gale Sayers, number 40, runningback. He was a great runner, and most people now remember his "quote", "Run to Daylight".The Bears not only had Gale Sayers, but a chart racking, record braking runningback in 1975 to 1987. His name was Walter Payton, one of my favorite players in the NFL. His nickname was "Sweetness." Not only could this guy run, he could block, pass, and catch.  He was unbelievale! In 1985-86 the Bears won Super Bowl 20, with the help of Payton.  It was their first Super Bowl. They had beat the New England Patriots 46-10, won of the best victories in the NFL.  Also the Bears held the greatest win in the NFL.  During the beginning towards the middle of the start of the Bears franchise they had beat the Wasington Redskins 70-3. The Bears, a great team then and in 1985-86, are now not doing to well, but will hopefully be back to " Da Bears" they were born to be.
